5 Ways to Photograph How Positively Passionate You Are about Your Business

This February I’m dialling up the romance to help you add some bada-bing to your business bottom-line. Forget the hearts and flowers, I’m talking passion with a capital P! You see, getting across what makes you passionate about your business is an incredibly powerful tool, especially when it comes to photography. If a picture can convey 1000 words, then tapping into your passion and motivation for your business will simply turbocharge it! The outcome? You’ll end up with visuals that will reach your consumers on a far deeper level. Yay! But word of warning photo peeps, you can’t fake passion. Consumers are hard wired to sniff out false narratives and shoddy values, so keep it real folks!

If you want to inspire your consumer, amaze them or even make them feel something, then leveraging your true passion for your business is the first step.

Not sure what I mean? Here are 5 businesses that use passion-led photography to convey just exactly why they are head-over-heels about what they do.

1. A Passion for Sustainability - Treehouse Bakery

Aside from her determination to prove vegan food can satisfy your sweet tooth and of course promoting her damn tasty bakes, Treehouse Bakery owner, Stephanie, is first and foremost committed to being eco-conscious. From recyclable and compostable packaging, delivering exact quantities to avoid wasteful leftovers, to simple tips for making your kitchen eco-friendlier, Treehouse Bakery uses photography to not only showcase their eco credentials but how they are living by them at every turn.

Top Tip: If sustainability is your passion get your voice on camera. Let them hear you talk fluently and convincingly as a call to action.

2. A Passion for Quality - Jackson’s Dairy

From farm to fridge, Jackson’s Dairy have it covered when it comes to their outstanding produce - and it shows. No stone is left unturned in making sure their products are the best, sustainable, locally sourced goods that you can get your hands on. Their passion for providing high quality produce and their unbelievable standard of care throughout its journey, is what makes the story of Jackson’s Dairy so unique. This family-run, local business uses photography to demonstrate their deep passion and commitment to providing high-quality produce for their local community. When the quality is this good, let’s face it, you really don’t need to say anything else.

Top Tip: Keep it simple. Don’t over complicate or clutter your shots, simply let the quality shine through.

3. A Passion for a Cause - Just Bee (Save the Bees)

Saving the honeybees whilst also creating the sweetest honey is undoubtedly serious business. Whilst Just Bee might plant bee-friendly seeds for every honey pot their sell, (5.5 million flowers planted to date) their passion for protecting the bees whilst educating about all things honey, simply buzzes throughout their photography. Whether you buy their honey or plant their seeds, Just Bee are a hive of knowledge designed to help you make a positive difference. And that’s the trick. Promoting a cause doesn’t always have to be chest-beating, seriousness all the time. Their products you see, are as amazing as their ethics. Getting a balance of cause and character helps bring their passion to life in a bee-utiful way.

Top Tip: Depending on the nature of your cause, try to bring some personality to your shots whether that’s being a little creative (like Just Bee’s recipes) or by softening the vibe with a bit of humour. It stops people closing off to your more serious messaging.

4. A Passion for a Team - Tempt Marketing

Brimming with Northern charm and not afraid to show it, Tempt Marketing’s friendly, down-to-earth style is the secret ingredient to what makes this company great. Their use of photography brings to life their number one asset, their unwavering passion for their people. Their approachable, friendly, irresistible dynamic is woven into the company’s DNA, but you only need to look at their imagery to know that. This lot are simply bursting with energy and passion for what they do, and they’re pretty darn good at it too. When you’re this passionate about your people, it’s contagious.

Top Tip: Whether it’s showcasing their unique personalities, or highlighting your brilliant team dynamic, whatever you do, let their individual personalities shine through. Don’t curate appearances on camera for the sake of a shoot. Simply let them be the wonderful team they already are.

5. A Passion for a Lifestyle - Scott Baptie

Scott might be a banging cook, but even more important than that he’s passionate about creating nutritious high protein meals that won’t have you scratching your head in confusion. Living a lifestyle that promotes health and fitness is integral to what really fires him up. The photographs we took for his soon-to-be-on-bookshelves recipe book is effectively a shorthand for his foodie passion. The imagery is designed to be inspiring in a totally accessible way. It’s all about saying “Why not give it a go?” With jump-off-the-page yummy food, recipes using everyday ingredients, and a side serving of kitchen banter, Scott brings a whole new meaning to a lifestyle shoot!

Top tip: Perfectly propped shots go a long way to creating lust or FOMO factor. When someone is so passionate about their lifestyle it makes you want a slice of what they’re having too!!

If you’ve got the hots for your business, if you swoon over your staff, or are oh-so sweet on your sustainability, then why not bring your business passion to life in your photography?
It’s undoubtedly the best way to steal your customers hearts.
