Emporia Brands: Daddy Rack Photoshoot

I’m overjoyed to be sharing with you some work from my first drinks photoshoot of 2021, for Emporia Brands.

In February 2021, I had the pleasure of working with Dave the Drinks Enthusiast and his client Emporia Brands for a brand they represent, Daddy Rack.

I originally shot for Daddy Rack Whiskey back in November 2020, when I collaborated with Dave & Emporia Brands on a photoshoot for their range of own-brand spirits for Sainsbury’s and Tesco. Originally we just squeezed in a couple of shots for Daddy Rack on this shoot, see shot below, but then (much to my glee!) Emporia decided Daddy Rack needed their own array of imagery, and came to me a second time to shoot a plethora of work for their client.

It was a pleasure to shoot at Bunny Jacksons, on First Street Manchester, for our shoot. To be honest, it was a pleasure to just be in a bar again! Bunny Jacksons encapsulates the all-American vibe that coincides with Daddy Racks branding and vision, and gave us access to a full bar to create all the beautiful (and whacky!) cocktails for Daddy Rack.

I decided to use continuous lighting to enhance the already diverse lighting in Bunny Jacksons, from neons, to fluorescents there was an array of different light sources on site. However, with us having limited natural light the Neewer continuous lights I often use on shoots just really helped pump some extra light onto the subject matter. This just mimicked the lovely feel of natural light that I’m banging on about over on the Instagram Grid this March; I’m a big fan of natural light in the ol’ Natural vs. Flash lighting debate, and these continuous lights just give me and the Canon a lil’ extra help when we’re shooting in a space with limited natural light.

Big’up Jess & the Monin team who were also shooting with us on the day to help create the delicious and diverse cocktails for Daddy Rack. As always, it was a pleasure working with Dave and Emporia Brands – and I’m looking forward to seeing what other beautiful work we create working together in 2021.
