Winter Highlights

Now March is here, and Spring has officially (almost!) sprung, I thought I’d take some time out this Thursday to bring to you some highlights of work I shot across Winter.

Winter’s one of my favourite seasons - mainly because it holds host to my birthday! - but also winter menus are sumptuous and deep, there’s lots of cosy nights in with good food and box sets, and with winter light being crisp and bright, winter holds host to a bunch of new challenges and lots of creative energy.

So without further ado, let’s dive in with a shoot for The Wild Goose.

The Wild Goose was a joy to shoot. A new opening to the Altrincham area and sister-brand to the successful Tre Ciccio name, The Wild Goose offers traditional English fair, offering up classics like French Onion soup, scampi and Spotted Dick. I felt like a lot of this work really shone; sometimes you can produce work and you see a real jump in creativity, styling or a general sense of ‘levelling up’ your work. I felt like I really saw this from the work I created for The Wild Goose.

Winter also has one of the most romantic days of the year in its midst; Valentines Day. And for my client The Flower Lounge it’s not only the most romantic, but it’s one of their busiest! Working with The Flower Lounge for the last 2 years has been an absolute joy, helping them establish a creative ‘look’ for their work is something I am extremely proud to of had a hand in. At the Kitchen studio space has become a home from home for our Flower Lounge shoots, and it’s always a wonderful spot to create some beautiful work. I’m excited to see what else we shoot between Sian and I this year, but for now, here’s some highlights from our Valentines shoot!

In January I shot two awesome commissions for Purple Riot PR! First off, we shot a whole new campaign for beer pipe cleaning company Beer Piper. I. saw this as a challenge as Beer Piper are a brand that within hospitality you know, love and to be honest couldn’t live without. Outside those realms, it’s not a brand you’d be familiar with - me for example, I’d never heard of them. But boy, was this an opportunity to sink my teeth into a project with loads of scope to be creative. We brought the brand to life by showcasing the product in action, as well as shooting their employee Jeff and Managing Director Jan for headshots for the company. I really love how moody and rich the shots are.

Next up on the roster of photoshoots with Purple Riot was sexual wellbeing product Bang On UK. Bang On create cushions that aid sex positioning after founder Jodi’s experience with her own sexual journey post-Cancer.  So you can imagine I was keen to get stuck into this brief and make sure we showcased Bang On’s products in the best, most tasteful way to help the product shine. The result - well you can see for yourself above. I felt really out of my comfort zone with this brief, so it was really satisfying to see it all go smoothly and well, with one happy client.

One of the big highlights for winter was sure to be Zumuku. Fresh off their rebranded name, Zumuku wanted me to go in and shoot their new menu items for their Deliveroo menu for sites in Wilmslow and West Didsbury, Manchester. But with their ever growing brand and sites, I’m excited to see what future work we shoot together in months to come.

Last but certainly by no means least, Climatik. Climatik are a Manchester based brand of air fryers, part of the IPUK family, with other household name brands on their roster like Booboo baby accessories and formally Easy Tidy I was excited to get stuck into the project with the team. Shooting air fryers in homes was the brief, and I wanted to make sure it looked like the fryers could be used in all sorts of homes, in different situ. The client was over the moon with the images, with scope in the future to shoot content for their blog creating recipes that could be created in their air fryers, with stylist The Food Harvest.

What a few months we’ve had a GG HQ. Makes me stoked to see what Spring has in store! Keep your eyes peeled for more on the blog soon, and in the meantime you can check out my happenings on Instagram.
